Epilepsy is a condition which affects the brain and causes seizures. Seizures occur when there is a disruption to electrical activity in the brain, leading to changes in a person’s movement, awareness, behavior and/or feelings.

For many this diagnosis can be life-altering, affecting their education, employment and social lives.
A lack of understanding in the community can lead to stigma and isolation, deeply impacting quality of life.
