Follow these tips to protect your skin from sun damage
Don’t skimp on sunscreen
Apply Sunscreen to all skin that is not covered by clothing. Use a sunscreen that is water resistant and has an SPF 30 or higher. Reapply every two hours or after swimming or sweating.
Treat yourself to protective clothing and sunglasses
Look for a lightweight long sleeved shirts and pants for an added layer of protection for your skin.
Make shade your new best friend
When possible, seek shade, especially from 10am to 2pm When the sun’s rays are strongest. If there is no shade around create your own with a hat or umbrella.
Be extra careful around water, sand and snow
These surfaces reflect the sun’s rays, increasing your chance of sunburn.
Say goodbye to tanning
Tanning outside or indoors can lead to wrinkles, age spots and skin cancer.
If you see something, say something
When detected early skin cancer is highly treatable. Check your skin regularly if you notice any changes in your spots, itching or bleeding see your GP .
